The stadium was opened in 1923 and was completely remodeled in the mid-1970's.

The outside is nothing impressive.  There isn't a signature "shot" in the whole place.  No statues of the Yankee greats...Mantle, Maris, DiMaggio, Ruth.  Nothin'.  For a baseball team with such an incredible history, Yankee Stadium really lacks character.

Plus it is hemmed into a rough area of the Bronx.  Immediately adjacent to the grounds are a few decent places, but nothing like other stadiums.
