If it isn't to see the leaves changing
color, then the only other time to really check out the Crag area
is when the water is flowing--usually in early to mid spring.
As the trail breaks out of the upland
forest area to the bluff line a creek heads over the bluff on its
way to Whitaker Creek and on to the Buffalo. It makes several
neat waterfalls on the way and is worth exploring all the way down
to Whitaker Creek.
