The area is very forest and hilly, hence
the name. The focal point of the park is Forest Lake, which
provides 17 miles of shoreline.
The name--Thousand Hills--is pretty appropriate. The trail
follows the lake around and it basically up a hill, across a short
"bench," then down to the next dry stream (wet only when it rains),
and up again. Most of the hills aren't too steep or too long, so
the riding is actually really nice.
We biked the Hickory Trail and then
around the park to the Big Creek State Forest the trailhead there.
(We left a vehicle at both places.) |
