Current River, Akers to Round Spring (July, 2007)

Not wanting another float season to pass us by without getting on the Current River, Greg and I scheduled to take off the last Friday in July and do a two-day float on down a section of this top-notch river.

The river is largely spring-fed and has a number of big ones that keep the flow going year-round, allowing floaters to put in at almost any location and enjoy a great trip.  And, with a wet spring and early summer the springs were keeping the Current flowing and cold.

If you're not familiar with the river, pictured here is a typical bend on the river--tight and moving fast with the fast water to the outside, shallow water to the inside and logs of all sorts in the current.  Let the fun begin!!
