The upper stretches of the Jacks Fork are
fairly shallow but move along at a nice pace. The water wasn't
particularly high for us but it was the first weekend in June so it
was just enough to keep us from scraping.
The NPS Jacks Fork
gauge at Mountain View
was right at 2 feet which is decent floating. The water
temperature was in the high 70s...cold for me, but not bad.
A
map of the route is available from the NPS and there's a good
mile-by-mile guide published by the Missouri Department of
Conservation that posted on the Missouri Canoe & Floaters
Association. |
