We stopped shortly after Blue Spring along
one of the numerous gravel bars, ate our lunch and lounged around a
bit. With only 9 miles to float during the day we were able to
take it easy and enjoy the warm weather.
Very few outfitters put boats on this
section of the Jacks so the crowds were fairly low and those that
were on the river were a bit more respectful. You won't find
this to be true on all sections of the Current and Jacks Fork,
especially those near outfitting mecca Eminence. Although the
two rivers are protected by the NPS and do not have nearly the
amount of "party floating" as say the Niangua and others. |
