Jacks Fork, Buck Hollow to Ebb and Flow Spring (June, 2008)

Our next stop was something I've been wanting to see after reading about it in a conservation magazine years and years ago.  This is the entrance to Jam Up Cave.  You have to be watching for it on the river right.  Be looking for the mouth of the cave halfway up the bluff and the huge breakdown blocks that have fallen down into the river over the millennia.

You'll have to scramble up the blocks and onto a little hill of them (from where I took this photo).

About 100 yards in, the cave terminates in a pool that is reachable with just the daylight.  A flashlight is always a good idea though to avoid stumbling on the rocks.
