Saguaro National Park - Tucson Mountain District, AZ (September, 2007)

When we first arrived we decided to do an easy trail that had some great examples of the plants and animals found in Saguaro.

The Desert Discovery Trail is a paved ½-mile loop trail that was not very crowded for late on a Sunday morning.  It is just a short drive from the park headquarters.

You can see some great views of the neighboring mountains as well as see lots of variety of cactus up close.  There were even some cactus wren flying around and plenty of lizards running out ahead of us on the trail.
