The loop road is a great way to see more remote areas of the park and though it is a dirt road and is a bit bumpy, passenger cars can still do the road without issues.

After we finished hiking and were ready to head out we decided to take the Golden Gate Road back out toward I-10.  This road is a bit rougher but nothing too bad; however, it does get you out into some more desert solitude.
