Something that truly fascinated me was the density of the housing.  These are just a few of the towers that are to be built here, on the edge of the "New District."  They don't seem like a whole lot until you really start looking at the size and adding up how many people live there!

Even after my best attempts to "clean up" the photos you can still notice the haze that thickens as you go up the photo.  Our tour guide on our one day of sightseeing would kind of casually comment on how foggy it was today.  Uh, huh.  Fog.  Yeah...right.

Weather certainly does play a factor in how bad the smog is but there is no doubt the air quality is terrible in China.
