Don and I decided this place is a geologist's field day with all kinds of geology lessons in plain site!

The bedding planes pictured here  have at some point in time been tilted up and the eroded by the river.  So in all actuality the river is flowing flat across the bedrock; the bedrock has just been tilted up.
