Like I said, the island is in the
Mississippi, right off of downtown Memphis. Click
here to see a
panoramic of the downtown skyline. The river was over flood-stage but the park was still high and dry and the barge traffic was still active. At any given point in time you could see a barge heading slowly fighting its way upstream or one gliding effortlessly downstream. |
