The River Walk park was very nicely
landscaped and with all the water, spots of shade, and beautiful
settings you could relax here all day.
Park admission was free. However to
tour the Mississippi River museum it is $8. (We didn't do it so
I have no idea what it's like.) To get across to the island you
can take the elevated monorail for $2 roundtrip. (This is the
same one Tom Cruise goes across in the movie "The Firm.")
However, after riding the monorail I would suggest that you just take
the covered walkway above the monorail. The train isn't air
conditioned and you wait 5+ minutes for it to get going. |
