Statue of Liberty / Ellis Island, New York City (July, 2003)

The ferry goes to Liberty Island and then jumps to nearby Ellis Island, where the Immigration Museum is.

This is the Registry Room.  During Ellis Island's height nearly 5,000 people would be moved through this room everyday.  It was very neat and even humbling to stand there and think about my great grandmother who had come through this room by herself at age 17.  My great grandfather also came through.  However they didn't meet until years later.

The whole museum is nicely restored yet maintains the character it did when in use around the turn of the century.
