San Antonio Mission National Historical Park, TX (November, 2007)

Inside the walls of the mission was a large courtyard containing the church building and a few other structures like a convent, wells, etc.  Lining the walls, facing the courtyard were the dwelling structures.  These are where the residents of the mission slept, cooked, and generally lived their lives.  Some of the units were open and had information explaining daily life.

One of my favorite parts of visiting the missions was just wandering around the open courtyard taking it all in.  Scattered from throughout were some great mesquite trees.
