Joshua Tree National Park truly is a gem
in the crown of the National Parks Service. Located partially in
the Mojave Desert, partially in the Colorado Desert, the park is about
2 hours east of Los Angeles. After looking at the guides and talking to the experts in the visitors center (south of 29 Palms), we decided to first hike the 49 Palms Oasis. (South of the park is a town called Thousand Palms....good grief you all, quit counting!) The trail started out pretty desolate but it was very interesting. Lots of large rocks, plants and other things to look at. |
