I couldn't resist! We actually
parked in front of the Hustler store one night. (To my amazement
there was usually a decent amount of street parking available.)
I really thought the contrast was interesting. On one side is
the flashy neon Hollywood Hustler store and abutting it is a classic
red brick, white trim with green canopies, 3 story building.
If you are in the Gaslamp (or need to get
to it) take Highway 163 out the north side. It runs along Balboa
Park and is a very scenic stretch of highway (for just a mile or two)
right in the heart of a bustling major metro. Watch for the old
tall bridge with the archways. |
