While the zoo boasts a number of newly
constructed areas it has also done a great job preserving the
historic buildings that were part of the original zoo. After
we finished with the River's Edge area we headed to Historic Hill
and checked out the reptile building and the primate building (one
of my favorites). I have several great childhood memories of
hanging out with my brothers in this building.
The layout of the zoo is rather large so
a
map is helpful in this case.
A great way to get around is the
Zooline Railroad.
It has a great route and covers a lot of the zoo. We planned
to do it at some point during the day but kinda ran out of time.
