With only limited time to be away from
work we decided to take a late August vacation. The beach
sounded like just the ticket and with direct service on Allegiant
Air from Springfield we decided on the St. Petersburg / Tampa Bay
area. We thought the last week
in August would help cut down on some of the crowds (since schools
were starting back up) and from what we can tell that is a good
assumption.
The weather turned out to be awesome
with the highs in the mid to upper 80's and heat indexes in the mid
90's. (That's about 10 degrees off from about a month
earlier.) There was the typical Florida weather of afternoon
thunderstorms but we were able to work around them all four days we
were there. |
