Probably the most popular of the
Smithsonian museums is the National Air & Space Museum. This one
is geared more toward kids than any of the other museums and is sure
to entertain someone of any age. (However, I was a bit
disappointed on my first return visit since I was 12 and only a few
years away from being wrapped up in the Challenger disaster. It
is very geared toward kids.)
Nonetheless the museum is expansive and has a number of very
significant aeronautical artifacts. This is on of the Apollo
testing prototypes.
