After dumping 2 miles into an 11 mile
float we were wet and cold for the next several miles and were glad
to see our planned lunch spot come around the bend.
We pull out on river right in a pool and
headed up on the exposed bedrock of Horseshoe Bend to each lunch and
hopefully soak up some sun to warm us.
There were these idiot kids willingly
jumping into that cold water from the cliff there. They'd then
swim right back up to the rock, climb up and do it again. That
is until one of them dislocated his shoulder. That could be
the most painful thing I've watched. Because he struggled to
shore obviously in pain and had a friend jerk it back into socket.
He seemed like it didn't hurt then but I'm sure it was just the
cold! |
