Current River, Akers to Round Spring (July, 2007)

The best thing about the Current River is the geology.  With the number of large springs feeding the river, there are plenty of fascinating geologic features to stop and see along the way.  The stretch from Akers to Round Spring is loaded with plenty of sites to keep the trip exciting.

The put-in at Akers is at about river mile 91, on the National Park Service map.  The feature shown here, Cave Spring is just before river mile 85 and is definitely worth checking out.

Another map is the Missouri Department of Conservation's "A Paddlers Guide to Missouri."  It shows Cave Spring at river mile 20.9.
