Mormon Mountain - Flagstaff, AZ (September, 2002)

In true mountain fashion the day turned to crap real fast.

I took this as we were walking up the trail / log road after driving to the closer trailhead.  With this weather about to drop any second and no end in site we weren't able to see if we could find the top or even see if we could find where this trail connected into the main one we hiked.  In other words if you plan on hiking this, STUDY THE MAPS!  (But you'll still have to make a few guesses.)

The clouds pictured here are Mammatus clouds which are formations basically "hanging" off of the bottom of cumulonimbus clouds.  They are fairly rare.  Click here to see some great photos.
