West Fork of Oak Creek - Sedona, AZ (September, 2002)

Like I said, we counted 13 crossings and this one, # 11, is by far the most spectacular.  The bluff pictured here was impossible to capture on film...or memory card.  To see a panoramic click here.

After walking a while, wondering if we were nearing the end the trail, we more or less just popped out of the woods and into a magical area.  The bluff was huge and bright red.  The area was shaded and had tons of green growth to it.  The creek was wide and flowed over solid bedrock.  And as we walked into the area a breeze came sweeping through, blowing countless leaves off of the trees.  As they floated down to land on the surface of the creek, Mel decided she was going to stop and build a house right here.
