At the end of the trail you are rewarded
with great views of a very unique arch--Vultee Arch. It's very
square-like shape is fairly interesting and its subtle location on a
hillside
also adds to its appeal. The
arch is named for a pioneer in early aircraft engineering, Gerard
Vultee who died nearby in 1938 when his plane crashed. There
is a plaque attached
to a rock outcrop recognizing Vultee. |
