North China, Introduction (May, 2007)

 
 
Here’s another shot of the huge jet. It still amazes me that something this big can 1) get off the ground in only 8,000 or so feet of runway; and 2) fly at over 500 mph at temperatures of well under 100 degrees (F) below freezing.

The other two shots show the wing of the plane and the mountains of north China / southern Mongolia and the massive expanse of the Arctic.
