Hickory Run State Park, Pennsylvania (September, 2003)

On the backside of the boulder field starts out the 3½ mile Boulder Field Trail which is a great hiking trail.

As you can tell, the weather was pretty bad.  Rainy on and off; drizzle and fog the whole time.  It wasn't cold but was it wasn't exactly warm either.  ...That's just the way we like it!  Crowds are down, water features are alive, and photos turn out great.

The trail is fairly flat and well maintained.  Most of the way holds lush vegetation, including plenty of the native hemlock.  At about the halfway mark you cross a small wet-weather stream.
