This is the very room where all of that
took place. Each colony (state) had a table in this cramped room
and though delegates were not always present it was still a tight
quarters. According to the
National Parks Service the room is as original as it can be. The
chairs, tables and other fixtures aren't original to this room but are
from that period.
However, there is one piece in the room
that is original...and if you had to pick one piece that you want to be
original, this would be it. The chair behind the head table was
the actual chair used by George Washing to preside over the
