Built in the 1970's the metro is a much
more advanced subway system than many, if not all, in the U.S.
The tunnels are open, comfortable and almost even artistic!

What is probably the most amazing,
especially on the northern end of the Red Line is the sheer size of
the escalators leading out of the tunnels. At night they look
like an entrance to heaven they way the are lit! The longest is
at the Wheaton Station at 230 feet! |
